Un rayo en el Rancho-K - A bolt of lightning on Rancho-K : 13-09-2009 Ayer, mientras comíamos en el porche, cayó un rayo en el pino del jardín. Fue una tormenta corta pero impresionante. Los truenos eran fortísimos, un CRACK seco y sin retumbar por la cercanía. El último fue sin duda el más fuerte e impresionante porque cayó a menos de 15 metros de nosotros, en el pino del jardín. Yo tuve toda la tarde los oídos aturdidos. En estas fotos trato de recoger los daños que ha sufrido el pino. Por lo que puedo ver desde el suelo, parece que solo sea tiras de corteza reventadas al pasar por ramas y tronco. No sé como le podrá afectar, habrá que esperar a ver qué puede hacer la naturaleza. Yesterday, while having lunch in our porch, a bolt of lightning hit our pine tree. It was a short but quite impressive thunderstorm. The thunder were very strong, just a big CRACK with no rolling because of how close they were. The last one was no doubt the strongest and most impressive because it came down less than 15 meters away from where we were, it hit the pine tree in our garden. It did affect my ears the rest of the day. In these pictures I try to show the damage on the tree that I can see from the ground. It looks like it is only 'stripes' of bark which exploded as it went through branches and trunk. I have no idea how this will affect the tree, we will have to wait and see what mother nature can do.

Me encuentro bien / I feel fine : 6-10-2009 Como podéis ver, a 6 de octubre, todavía podemos seguir aprovechando la piscina. Como está tapada con una manta de plástico de burbujas y solo la destapamos para el baño, el agua se mantiene a 23-24 grados. Por otra parte, también podéis ver que, dos semanas después de la primera sesión de quimio y a una semana de la segunda, me encuentro francamente bien y aquí estoy, nadando y jugando a la pelota con mi hija María. As you can see, on October 6th, we can still enjoy the pool. As it is covered with a bubble plastic 'blanket' that we only roll when we are going to use it, the temperature remains at 23º-24º C.
